Collaboration during the pandemic marks National Skilled Nursing Week 2021


This year’s edition of the American Health Care Association (AHCA) National Skilled Nursing Care Week (NSNCW) focuses on the immense collaborative commitment of facilities and their staff to provide compassionate care to residents during the COVID pandemic. -19.

The AHCA said the annual week dedicated to carers in care homes is called ‘Together through the seasons’ and will run from May 9-15.

Over the past year, despite the challenges of the pandemic, Skilled Care Centers and their staff have demonstrated an incredible and unwavering commitment to providing quality care and keeping their residents safe, said the ‘OH THAT.

NSNCW 2021 will focus on this collective effort and the incredible strength and dedication of those who work tirelessly every day to care for and protect frail seniors and people with disabilities in long-term care. “With each new season comes new beginnings, new strategies and new information. Together we will overcome this and together we will begin to heal,” AHCA said.

The AHCA established its Nursing Week in 1967, with each of those weeks beginning on Mother’s Day and celebrated until the following Saturday.

To help celebrate, the AHCA provides nursing homes with a theme each year as well as graphics, activity suggestions and products specially designed around that theme. In the weeks leading up to NSNCW, centers are encouraged to plan special events for staff, residents and families. During the week, AHCA encourages vendors to share their activity ideas, photos, videos and NSNCW posts via Facebook and Twitter using #NSNCW.
