“AmeriStaff is committed to building on its years of wellness experience and making returning to school a safe proposition for students and faculty at Detroit Catholic Central,” said Greg Jamian, President and Chief Executive Officer of AmeriCare Medical.

While many school districts have just submitted their plans to reopen, Detroit Catholic Central (CC) has taken a head start in preparation and planning. As a result, the students showed up for their first day of school on Monday August 17th. The Catholic COVID Central Committee (C4) has established numerous sub-committees to focus their efforts on specific challenges, and the whole group has been working diligently throughout the summer to reopen the school on time. One of the tools used by the group is the ‘Back to School Roadmap’ released by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s COVID-19 Task Force on the Back to School Advisory Council. education.

Part of the plan to return to in-person teaching was to hire a school nurse. So, at the end of July, CC contacted AmeriStaff Nursing Services for assistance in establishing their safety protocol. After careful consideration, CC chose to partner with AmeriStaff Nursing Services.

“AmeriStaff impressed us with their professionalism and expertise,” said Mitch Hancock, Dean of Students and Chair of Catholic Central’s Health and Safety Committee. “When businesses started to reopen in early June, they took the initiative to set up a screening service for several businesses in the community. From the outset, they provided insight and knowledge that our committee found very useful. The presence of their nurses on site will be invaluable to us in communicating with our families and ensuring the safest possible environment for our students and staff.

Ameristaff Nursing Services is an established home care company that updated its business model to include assisting organizations with nursing and screening services during the first wave of the pandemic.

“AmeriStaff is committed to building on its years of wellness experience and making returning to school a safe proposition for students and faculty at Detroit Catholic Central,” said Greg Jamian, President and Chief Executive Officer of AmeriCare Medical. “Following strict guidelines from the CDC, our mitigation strategies, in collaboration with the school administration, will help reintegrate learning into the classroom for CC students.”
