Fairless OKs agreement with county health department for nursing services

KEY ACTION: Approved a contract for the 2021-22 school year with the Stark County Department of Health.

DISCUSSION: The agency will provide nursing services to the district for $ 38 per hour for 35 hours per week. This implies a maximum of 1,365 hours for the school year, without exceeding $ 51,870.

OTHER ACTION:

  • Accepted the resignations of Daniel Snyder, custodian, effective May 31, and Barbara Specht, bus driver, effective May 28, both retired; and Pamela Reinhart, Assistant Treasurer, effective July 1.
  • Accepted the resignation of Paula Renner, food service employee, effective March 31. The board hired her as assistant treasurer, on a one-year limited contract from March 31 to June 30. June 1 to 30, 2023.
  • Granted additional one-year contracts to non-teachers and non-district teachers as coaches for the following: Vertrence Terrell, track assistant; Bruce Metzger, college baseball assistant; and Jordan Tull, softball assistant.

  • Recognized Myla Robinson, Max Kirby and Brian Schultz. Robinson won fourth place in the VFW State Patriot’s Pen Contest for his essay “Why Patriotism Matters to Me.” She was Navarre VFW. She read the essay to the board members. Kirby was honored for his sixth place finish in the wrestling state. Schultz, a high school biology teacher, shared information about the current science program.
