New Hope Academy Partners With Mercy Community Healthcare For Nursing Services | Characteristics


For the first time, Mercy Community Healthcare is providing in-school nursing services at New Hope Academy in Franklin through nurse Tina DeLaughter.

DeLaugther has a background in education and nursing. She began her career as a middle and high school math teacher before later deciding to attend nursing school. As a nurse, DeLaughter has extensive experience in intensive care. She will be present every school day at New Hope Academy to help with COVID-19 precautions, provide group instruction, and assess students as needed.

“We are delighted to offer this new line of services, and it should be started with New Hope Academy, a long-time partner of Mercy,” said Mercy Community Healthcare Chief Medical Officer Dr. Don Gibson. “In 2008, Mercy began providing school counseling services at New Hope Academy. The program has grown and currently serves 22 schools in schools in Williamson County, Marshall County School District and Franklin Special School District.

Tina DeLaughter is a nurse who works at New Hope Academy through a partnership with Mercy Community Healthcare.
